Academic affiliation and recruitment of students

The students will be enrolled in the "International Masters - MD/PhD Program in Medical Neurosciences", which covers the wide spectrum of the neurosciences. Students thereby have the opportunity to complete an international PhD degree with broad neuroscientific training. Thus, the program will be attractive for both excellent German students from Berlin, as well as from other universities, and for students from other countries. The "lingua franca" of the Graduate School will therefore be English.

The students will be recruited through advertisements placed in journals and on the internet. A homepage of the Graduate School will have links to societies for neuroscience and immunology as well as to the Medical Neuroscience School and the Neuroscience Research Center. Furthermore, students from the International Masters Program in Medical Neurosciences (half of whom come from abroad) will be encouraged to apply. Candidates will then be selected on the basis of a written entrance test and oral performance, both of which have served as valuable selection tools in our experience.
